The first steps are to determine which SHE Mark(s) your business qualifies for and request an application! We recommend filling out the Application Request Form even if you are not ready to apply. Doing so gives you access to the specific application questions as well as the ability to ask The SHE Mark Team further questions about the marks and/or process!

Some things to keep in mind:​

• Application fees are determined by the size of your company (see Pricing);

• You can request a paper application if that is preferred to the digital one.

If you are ready to apply, the next step is to gather the application materials needed to evidence your business' compliance with our standards. For a general overview of the information that is requested in the application,  visit our Application Materials page. For more detailed information, please fill out the Application Request Form and it will be emailed to you.

Some things to keep in mind:​

• We have created several document templates to make it easier than ever to submit your evidence,

• We require that all submitted materials be de-identified, meaning we do not collect identifying information (eg. names, contact information, etc.) beyond that of the person filling out the application.

Once your materials are collected, you are ready to fill out the application! Depending on the business and the number of marks being applied for,  the application takes ~20 minutes to fill out and complete. We designed the application to balance being both concise and thorough, only asking for information that is directly related to the qualification of the marks themselves and  general company information in order to get to know your business a bit better.

Some things to keep in mind:​

• Your application is not considered complete without payment of the application fee,

• It can take 2-4 weeks for your application to be reviewed and a certification decision to be made, barring any missing or additional information that may need to be submitted,

• Upon submission of the application, you will be agreeing to our Certification Agreement, which outlines the terms of certification. It can be reviewed here and on the application form before submission.

If you have made it to Step 4, congratulations! You are ready to make waves and use your SHE Mark(s).​

Upon certification and acceptance into our SHE Certified Community, you will receive a welcome email from The SHE Mark Team, which includes everything you need to start using your mark(s) immediately (access to our SHE Certified Community Backend Resource Hub, Quickstart Guide, etc.). We also include the option to receive a physical acceptance packet, which includes an official certification certificate and a $10 credit to use towards the purchase of a SHE Mark physical material, so that you can proudly showcase your SHE Mark(s) in real life. Some things to keep in mind:​

• If certified, the SHE mark(s) can be used for up to a 2 year term before needing to re-apply*,

• To see ongoing examples of the marks in use, follow us on Instagram and sign up for our newsletter,

• If you are certified for all three core SHE Mark(s), you do have the option to use our triple certification mark design.
